Yoga
The stay will also include regular yoga with experienced instructor Barbara Hrušová. Early in the morning after sunrise will wake you up beautifully and revive you for the day or in the evening at sunset. It will stretch tired muscles after surfing and put you in the right zen after a beautiful day of surfing. Yoga is an integral part of surfing, it helps with stretching before and especially after surfing, to relax your muscles and your whole body.
“Yoga is tailored to stretch the most stressed parts of the body and provide relief in a sport that is new to most participants. Our goal is not to make you a yogi, but to guide you safely through the asanas that are most appropriate for surfers. During the classes I base the lessons on hatha yoga, the principle of inhalation and exhalation is maintained, and at the end you will have relaxation and aromatherapy.”

Accommodation
Accommodation is right on Playa Grande beach, in a beach villa with kitchen, dining room and chill zone, large swimming pool and bbq terrace in the garden. Only a wooden boardwalk lined with trees and palm trees separates us from the beach, what more could you ask for? The rooms are in threes, the kitchen is fully equipped, there is plenty of room for everyone in the three fridges and the villa has WI-FI connection. Tamarindo is a 20 min walk to the beach, a small boat takes you across the river for a dollar. Every evening we have the most beautiful sunset in front of the villa on the beach and we never miss it.

Transportation
The price of the campsite includes transportation from or to the airport in Liberia, which is one hour from Playa Grande. If you take the cheaper flight to San José, you will have to pay extra for the overnight stay in San José (25USD) and an extra fee for the trip from San José to Playa Grande (approx. 35USD).
A valid passport is required for the flight, make sure that your passport is valid for at least 6 months from the date of return.
When travelling through the USA, you need to fill out an online ESTA transit visa, which costs 21USD, here is the link to the VISA

PRACTICAL INFORMATION
VISA AND PASSPORT
Passport
Do you intend to stay on your holiday for a maximum of 90 days? Then your passport will be sufficient for Costa Rica. However, make sure that your passport is valid for at least 6 months from the date of your return to your country. At the Costa Rican airport, you will need to present your return ticket in addition to your passport.
Visa
As an EU citizen, you do not need a visa for Costa Rica. However, it is not possible to extend your visa-free stay for tourism purposes.
Vaccination against typhoid fever is done with one vaccine that provides protection for 3 years. Revaccination is only performed when necessary.
It is vaccinated against tetanus, the causative agent of which occurs worldwide. Vaccination is carried out after 10 – 15 years, in persons over 60 years after 10 years.

INSURANCE
Each participant should have their own travel insurance. As most of us will be doing a sporting activity on the beach, we recommend taking out additional insurance for risk sports and third party insurance, in case the surfboard breaks, in some destinations you are responsible for the equipment you rent and if it is damaged you will have to pay for the damage on the spot.

FAQ
Can I participate in the surfcamp if I go alone?
Certainly yes, you won’t be the only one, many participants go single and some even go double 🙂 We always connect you all before the trip, so you can travel together and there is a common program in place. We will put you in a room with other individuals or smaller groups, so you really don’t have to be afraid to go out alone.
I have never surfed, can I still participate?
All our surfcamps are designed for complete beginners as well as more advanced surfers. However, the vast majority are complete beginners like you, so don’t worry, you won’t be alone.
Who will I live with if I am not traveling in a larger group?
We always try to divide participants into boys’ and girls’ rooms, if you want your own room, you have to pay the difference for an unoccupied bed.
Is the surfcamp program mandatory and do I have to participate in everything?
The whole program is optional, so if you feel tired or just want to chill, let us know, put your feet up in a hammock or relax on the beach. You have a holiday:)
Do I have to pay the full amount after signing up?
After confirmation of the reservation, you pay a deposit of 160E, then the rest three weeks before the trip.
